Poetry of HaliJo Webster - Poems To Empower Women

HaliJo Webster's poems are her reflections on life from a woman's point of view. Learning lessons borne from fear and pain - seeking love and equality yet experiencing violence, abuse and judgement - and finally realising that the most important thing is to first unconditionally love the self, and from that all good things follow.

HaliJo's poetry can be any woman's story, and as we identify with the story behind each poem, we come to realise that we are not alone at all, that we all experience the same things, and that these are the common threads that bind us together as human beings all on the same journey in life, only taking different paths.

Some of the poems on this site are excerpts from my Poetry Book & Cd Set, available for sale and for which part of the proceeds go to charity.  Some of the book poetry is featured here, and you can listen to the song Black And Blue as well as read the Black And Blue lyrics.

From birth till now, this journey of my soul has brought to life many "children" (in the form of life lessons), each with its own unique 'personality'. And, as the 'Mother', each one has awakened some awareness in my being and added a spark to my consciousness from the light inside, having arrived to enhance my transitions and ongoing journey. My desire is that they will also spark the light in your being which may be currently reduced to an ember, but which is still there, awaiting to be re-ignited.

It is by going down into the abyss
that we recover the treasures of life.
Where you stumble,
there lies your treasure.

~ Joseph Campbell (1904-1987) ~
Opportunities to find
deeper powers within ourselves
come when life seems
most challenging.
